if you've reached this post from the front page then you were probably either referred here by a friend or found us on accident. either way, hello!

you might be familiar with journal-based sites like insanejournal or (for a real throwback) greatestjournal. the code dreamish was built on is similar with some updates so it functions better (comment editing, profile html, email replies). unlike other similar websites we are not open to the public for anyone to randomly make a journal. dreamish exists for two games and the writers who have characters in those games.

if you're looking for a space to write a character that you love we welcome you to join us. in order to be invited we ask that you either comment us here on insanejournal or fill out this google form.

as things continue to evolve we are doing our best to keep everything updated. however, if you have any questions

‣ Resources are shared freely within the community here. That includes everything from html codes to icons or anything else you may want to contribute. our resources comms are a place for you to ask questions, get help with coding, find resources, and share your own creations.

‣ dreamish's focus is on literate writing: paragraph, creative tags with others and writing that explores a character's arc. let's all remember that this is a hobby and none of us are on the ny times bestseller list. so while we do expect quality writing, making fun of others and their writing will result in you being banned.

‣ journals with a cookie next to them are site/admin journals. these are things like where news is announced, dreamish layouts, code sharing, mod journals, etc.

‣ While we believe in free speech and individual uniqueness, we do not allow any of the following: hatefulness, harassment, bullying, racism, transphobia, xenophobia, plagiarism, or anything else in that same line of thought. If evidence is provided and you are found in violation you will be banned from the site.

‣ Using Dreamish is free for our writers. We do accept donations toward server costs, but that is not required to join us. We do not have paid accounts that grant more features. Each user is given 50 to 250 icons depending on which account status you choose (the flower, the bee, the octopus, and the panda) when applying with your character. All account levels can create a layout.

‣ We reserve the right to modify and/or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the service (or any part thereof) with or without notice at any time. You agree that Dreamish shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of service. If you'd like to read the more in depth available documents, feel free to do so here (TOS) and here (Privacy Policy). these are the same policies linked/that you agree to when you create your journal and can be viewed there as well.

‣ Any content posted on the site should follow your local state and federal laws. We are not liable for any poor choices you may make and reports of any illegal content will result in you being banned from the site permanently. Again, see the TOS listed above.

‣ We do not allow hoarding of usernames and reserve the right to delete and purge your account if it sits unused. This will only occur if you break any of the above rules or 30-45 days from your removal of any game should anyone request to use it instead. Please be sure to backup and save your writing if you opt out of/leave a game.

‣ Currently you are not allowed to create any additional or private games on our server.
